i have a green light with an arrow pointing to a cross and an orange light with an arrow pointing the opposite way.as soon as i disconnect from the mains the thinkpad shuts down.have had computer 1 week and bought it secondhand with no user instructions.please help...

I have IBM Thinkpad T23 Type2647.yesterday,I reinstalled window xp,I clicked on restart as instucted me but insteade of restarting it remained on white screen then I pussed the power button and tried to start up again but it is not working,screen is remainin blank position and the lights which are on the key board in circle are lighting while I press the power button and putting of suddenly with 5times beeping sound but z light which is in circle remains glow.I have tried many times to start up the screen but nothing happened.Kindly suggest me to solve this problem.
